Music, content and the plot of the story is what makes the movie worth watching. If any of these elements do not fit well, the experience of watching a film does take a toll. This week we have Akshay Kumar and Huma Qureshi‘s Jolly LLB 2 which is a sarcastic take on the condition of law in India.

With just two days left for the release, here’s the music review of the film.

Go Pagal

Nazron ke katte se maare tu goli re, Aisa zehar hai jo maare slowly re, Tera rang udaaun, Pump chalaaun tujhe bhigaaun, Tere gaal ko laal banaaun, Kyunki aaj baby Holi hai…Go Pagal!

Holi is round the corner and the filmmakers these days are giving us songs for this year’s playlist. Raftaar and Nindy Kaur have sung Go Pagal and the lyrics are penned by Manj Musik and Raftaar himself. It’s the lyrics of the song which makes you go crazy for the track. If you’re a music buff, you’ll love the fact how drums, tabla and keyboard have been mixed to give the number a perfect boost. Well, you might also find a little resemblance to Kapoor And SonsLets Nacho. But, choosing the song for starting the jukebox is something you would appreciate and wouldn’t want it to end.

Bawara Mann

Any Bollywood movie without a slow and romantic number is feeka…. and here we have Bawara Mann. Jubin Nautiyal and Neeti Mohan, through their magical voice, just make the song worth listening to and you would just travel places with this song. Acoustic Guitar and tunes of Ukulele work in the favour and they do the rest of the job. Bawara Mann might also become one of your favourite songs and you would want to play it when you’re on a long drive with your special one.

Jolly Good Fellow

Remember the old Jolly Good Fellow? Well, Meet Bros have added a desi touch to it. Not to disappoint all the fans, but this song is clearly not one of the best sung by the singers. But, you would like the mawali feel which they have given to the song. He’s a jolly good fellow, Jai kanhaiya laal ki bolte chalo! Imagine the modern raasleela – the track does give that taste! This one could have been much better, but no offense to Meet Bros.

O Re Rangreza ( Qawaali )

Hats off to Sukhwinder Singh, Murtuza Mustafa & Qadir Mustafa for giving us a Qawaali and making it meaningful. The song clearly portrays the conflict which would come in the second half of the film. It’s an arzi to the lord to set things the right. Tabla, harmonium, claps and santoor – are the essence of qawaali and here too it fits well.

Verdict: In a nutshell, the music has all flavours – rap, romantic, pop and sufi. The jukebox won’t disappoint you at any level and the idea of keeping it short is a perfect ploy employed by the director and the music composer.

We give it 70 out of 100 on Pinkvilla meter.
